Our spirited Broncos did not disappoint Saturday night.
3rd ranked BSU and 24th ranked OS were well matched.
Both teams have talent and are well coached...but in the end,
the final score,
Boise State 37, Oregon State 24...making Idaho proud!
My Pick,
Bronco Blueberry Cornmeal Pancakes
was a Snap to Tackle in a Rush...and yes, I Scored!!!
Heat and oil your Gridiron. Turn Out batter and watch for bubbly Signals.
Add blueberries to the top of each pancake before your Turn Over.
Odds are you will achieve a Winning Percentage of oohs and ahhs...
which in my Territory is the BOMB,
to your Cheering Crowd and take a Quick Count of Xs & Os!
For all of you Rookies, plan on serving 4-6 Players. Here's your Cheat Sheet.
- 1-1/2 cups medium-grind cornmeal (I used Bob's Red Mill)
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
Buttermilk Maple Syrup
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp. maple extract
- 1 tsp. soda
I won't Play-By-Play again...

ReplyDeleteThe pancakes look yummy. I will definitely make these for my son, Trevor who is (our whole family is) a HUGE Boise state fan. He wears a Boise State tshirt, hoodie or shorts almost every day to school, has Boise notebooks, backpack etc. and his school nickname is simply Boise, and we're in Tulsa OK where many are only now beginning to know who they are. What a great game! Yesterday Trevor was in his Boist shirts, shorts and hoodie and we were walking into Walmart where he passed a man with an Arkansas Razorbacks shirt on. Trevor is funny and said to the man, "sorry for your loss" and that he wanted Arkansas to win as it would have helped Boise in their rankings.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and his family are from Boise. Fun post!

ReplyDeleteGnee -- I wish I could say that my blue and white team did so well on Saturday! My husband and son went to the BYU game (while the girls shopped). Hopefully, they can improve their season. Love your enthusiasm for the Broncos. I love Boise State except when they beat BYU -- LOL! Joni

ReplyDeleteGlad Boise did so well. BYU has been struggling. I am glad I was in San Diego for a class reunion (imagine that when you graduated from Wisconsin - nice change). These look fabulous and anything with buttermilk syrup on is the best. I will be trying these lucious pancakes.
ReplyDeleteThe pancakes look delicious but that syrup looks divine! Can't wait to try this.
